Yesterday she turned a quarter-century, and I sat in church, musing that if I hadn’t already proposed in the alternate timeline, I certainly would have that day.  Instead, I took a walk with my father. Quite a lovely day by any standard, except the one that compares it to what should be the biggest day thus far of your four happiest years. Somewhere nearby, a happier self was down on one knee telling her everything she doesn’t want to hear in this dimension.  I miss her wholly.
